Executive Director

Nancy Sabol, M.A. is Executive Director of Gannondale, a private residential center for adolescent females, where she has worked for the past 23 years. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice. She holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Edinboro University of Pennsylvania.
The majority of Ms. Sabol’s professional career has been spent at Gannondale, where she has had the privilege of upholding the mission of the Sisters of Our Lady of Charity, who founded this program. Their belief in providing a normalizing and therapeutically eclectic experience for young women in need was revolutionary when Gannondale was founded in 1934. Now we find these very issues surfacing again, in the form of a call for female responsive programming. She has spoken at various local and state events on the issues impacting young people today.
Ms. Sabol began as a counselor, was promoted to supervisor, and ultimately became the Clinical Director, a position she held for 12 years. This was the position she enjoyed most, as she was able to put her clinical skills to work by developing innovative treatment programming that focused on the specialized needs of young women. She was promoted to Executive Director in January of 2004.
Gannondale is a member of the Pennsylvania Council of Children, Youth and Family Services. Ms. Sabol is an associate member of the American Psychological Association and an Oblate of the Benedictine Sisters of Erie. She serves as a Peer Reviewer for the Standards of Excellence for the Pennsylvania Association of NonProfit Organizations (PANO). She brings her belief in social justice issues to her work, and attempts to incorporate a holistic approach into furthering the mission of Gannondale.
