“My name is Jessellyn W. and I am a former resident that lived in Nazareth Cottage. I am now 22 years old and in my last semester of college working to obtain an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice. I appreciate being at Gannondale because it has helped me develop both general and life skills. The staff at Gannondale helped me realize my potential and that before my time there I wasn’t putting my all into what I was doing. Gannondale has taught me money and stress management, as well as provided me with drug and alcohol treatment. I can never thank the staff enough for the one-on-one counseling that I received during my days there. I am now a full-time student and security officer at LaSalle University. I would recommend any troubled young girl to go to Gannondale and hope that it will help them as much as it has helped me.”

"I was a resident of Cana Cottage in 1990 and was lost when I first came to Gannondale. It was court ordered due to my knack for running away from everything and everybody. I was sad and alone when I first entered Gannondale, but over time I learned that it was a safe place that I could trust. I have often wondered what happend to the staff or people that were there for me, even when I was not the most pleasant person to be around. So, I thought I would drop a quick note and let you know what has occurred since my departure from Gannondale. I grew into a strong, confident woman. I obtained my GED and then went for an Associate’s Degree in Nursing. Once I completed that, I obtained my BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) and am now working towards a MSN (Master of Science in Nursing). I currently work as a Flight Nurse, but working towards being am Advanced Practice Nurse. My point is that throughout my entire life, I was never wanted or about until I entered Gannondale. In the 9 months that I was there, I received love, support and encouragement. Even if I was only there for a short time, I have carried what I learned from Gannondale throughout my life. Thank you."

"Since Gannondale, I have gone through a lot of changes in my life. Gannondale has helped me deal with life issues that have been thrown my way. The staff was so helpful; they never had a problem talking to me when I needed to talk. They taught me life lessons that I have used on a daily basis and I am very appreciative for everything. The staff always cared and would do things to show us that they did so. I would love to be back at Gannondale to talk with the current girls and tell them that life is amazing. I would also encourage them to let staff help with whatever it may be that they need help with, because they sure helped me. I am now 21 years old and was a resident at Gannondale for 8 months. It was a very educational experience and I'm glad to have had the opportunity to be a part of their program."
