Group Counseling

Specialized competency development curricula have been developed that are geared specifically toward the needs of adolescent girls, with a goal to teach pro-social behavior.

These regularly held group meetings, led by our counseling staff, are designed to develop competency skills. Sessions may be directed to resolve day to day living issues or issues that are germane to a particular sub-set of youth. Groups focus on gaining appreciation for the differences of others, moderating behavior, setting appropriate expectations and resolving issues that are impeding the general progress of the group.

Participation in a Life/independent living skills curriculum is also mandatory in order to prepare for re-integration into the community.
