ARISE

ARISE is a non-profit organization founded in 1986, providing life skills curricula and staff training. ARISE is designated for at-risk youth, such as the girls we serve, and the staff who care for them. The mission is to enable youth to achieve their highest potential as law-abiding citizens through Arise group sessions. Through our dedication to ARISE, we are hoping to build social and emotional fitness in trouble youth.

In late September 2010, ARISE was introduced to Lisa Horton (Drug and Alcohol / Family Counselor) and Jericho McCalmont (Counselor) with the purpose of helping Gannondale staff effectively deliver a life skills group, as well as engage youth in a new and creative format.

Training sessions during the day are being established to educate staff on the curriculum and effective ways of running the groups. Several of our girls will be handpicked to participate in the first ARISE group sessions in order to get the program running.
