Certification

This can be found upon entrance into Gannondale's main administration building. More than a welcome sign, it is an accepted and practiced philosophy.

On March 24th & 25th of 2011, Gannondale was evaluated by two members of the Sanctuary Institute for successful implementation of the Sanctuary Model. The two day evaluation included interviews with both staff and residents, program observations, and document reviews.

Through the certification process, Gannondale demonstrated our provision of safe, compassionate and high-quality trauma informed care for our children and families; as well as the creation of an organizational culture committed to open communication, non-violence, social responsibility, growth & change, shared governance, social learning, and emotional intelligence.

On May 16, 2011 Gannondale officially became one of only a handful of agencies in Pennsylvania to be awarded certification. This represents an agency-wide commitment to understanding the effects of trauma through the creation of a truly therapeutic culture.
